Well, my wheels are with my car..... 2 1/2 hours away from me Frowner so I don't know Smiler

I should have my car back next week or the week after that hopefully. Mainly just waiting on a ZF part from Lloyd that I guess is on backorder or something Roll Eyes Just my luck.
Those caps look very similar in design to the ones Nate made for us on the first Kodiak buy. If they seem a little loose, use electrical tape around the cap lip. Try one layer first. If that isn't enough, go for two in a continuous strip. Tap them into place with a rubber mallet.
Mine have held fine for over a year.
Glad to hear you're all set up!
Mooso.
Alright, that's it.
Where's my caps ?... what took so long ?... and why aren't they polished ?

I figure if no on bitches about something, then things just wouldn't be right Daryle.

They look great brother, great job. Now maybe there will be some peace.....

As stated, the silicone works great and so does the tape. I used taped, one time around and tapped them in with a rubber mallet. 2 years now, over 16,000 miles and I haven't lost one yet :-)

Here's what I did to mine. I ended up using the one on the far right. And I am glad to see they are not exactly like we did ours.

But they are really fine, that's for sure. Congatulations guys !

I'm happy for you !

Hi Guys,
A good way to hold the caps in is to put a skim coat of silicone around where the notch is machined. There is also a notch in the wheels and the silicone will dry and form a gasket. The tape idea works well too. Take care.

Hi Guys,

Ok, believe it or not putting the caps in the freezer for a few hours will actually help it they are pretty tight. I would NOT recommend that you heat the wheels. Room temperature is fine. If the caps are frozen they will shrink a few thou and it will help. Just hold pressure down when you put them in because they will warm up very quickly. If you want to loosen them up a bit you can take a piece of emery paper and spin the part in your hand and resize the bore. I would be careful that you do not take out too much. If they are to loose they will come out. Bye for now.
