Hey Dennis,

Enjoy Vegas, I'm not sure at this point you will see me, I just don't think it was meant to be this year. I've worked day and night on the GT5 to get her back together and it's been one step forward two back all the way.

The latest was an outer rear wheel bearing which had scored up the axle, fortunately I had a spare late type axle I picked up on Ebay...phew for planning. I took it to PPC and they maanged to destroy the Wilwood hat dismantling it hammering on a stuck wheel stud, fortunately I had a spare hat too. Even so I had to shell out $700 for the bearings and fitment (on top of supplying my hat and axle!), now I get home and have it all back together to find my wheel won't go on, they obviously hammered so hard they bent the stud and then they have reused it, so the whole assembly has to come apart again!

At this point I'm tired and worn down Frowner
Hi Julian, I can understand your pain. For the first time I will not be taking a Pantera to the Fun Rally. I have a problem with my engine that I just have not had time to take care of. I did get the motor taken care of in the race car (I had a spare), so it is ready for the track event. But sadly, no Pantera!
Hello Julian,
I'm sorry to hear about your car troubles. Saturday I ran into a mechanical issue that is probably going to keep me from driving my car to Vegas. I'm still going to go just because I really enjoy shootin the breeze with all the Pantera folks. I hope you decide to come out and join us even if you can't bring your car.

My frustration is that I have the two days PCNC event paid up and I was soooo looking forward to getting back on the track.

BTW, to put more fuel on the fire I'm told this morning the problem must be with my wheels..... funny they always fitted previously!

I even tried to sit in the GT40 last night with a helmet on, but that and actually drive is nigh impossible .
David,

Did you see me? Probably not, but you might have heard me as sound does carry over the water. I picked up my 3-year old daughter from daycare in the Pantera today and was driving along the beach, she loves driving in the red car. How long are you going to be in town? Gimme a call. It's kinda ironc that one of my sister's lives in Montreal.

Julian,

I feel for you. I've had lots of days like yours. I hope you get it resolved in time. I laughed when you said you tried to wear a helmet in the GT40. I'm 5' 9 and my head hits the roof and compresses my spine a good inch when I have just my shiny head against the roof. I know it has been done by others, but make sure you book you Chiro appt. before you head out on the track.

Good luck. I'm rooting for you.

Mark
