Sounds like the seller got a good deal.

Seller, yes. Buyer, NOT!

Study the photos on the BJ site. Blacked out front bumpers, chrome rears. Blacked out windshield trim, chrome side window trim. Rear deck held open for engine bay shot - with vise grips clamped on the shock shaft!

Stock campys, stock most everything else.

Not a $45K car in my book - not even for someone looking for a restore-to-stock car.

I can't believe the value has increased that much in the four years since I bought 2511 for $42K

Shots of what my $$ bought linked below.

Cobra for 5 million ??? Hes out of his mind .. was this a Superperformance Car ?? Lisenced by Shelby. The buyer was on CRACK.

My other car is a MKIV made by AC and you can imagine the controversy behind the Originality discussion on there site. Well how does what in essence a Replica go for 5M ... its not made by AC ?

I dont know what this world is coming to ?? Without a doubt the Pantera is the best buy out there for the money and its a great car.

Uh, no Ron.

This was THE personal Carroll Shelby Cobra, twin turbos and one of a kind. Built by him for him way back in the day. Only other one built was for Bill Cosby; it was sold by him, then totally wrecked, then sent to UK and rebuilt but not with the turbos.

Still, a lot of money - but surely not for a kit/repro car.

Larry I know that was his personal Cobra (and so was one that sold Monday for a fraction) but does anyone know who made the chasis? Shelby has been taking 10 orders and delivering one car since the 60's. He still owes many many people cars who have made down payments. He has delivered cars as his own built by Kirkham and several other Kit Car companies. Sues them one day, sells their cars as his the next; just puts his tag on it. When they don't get paid he swithces to some one else.
