shifting problem

Hi
I need your help on this one, some times when i shift from first to second gear, the shifter shifts very nicely but the gearbox stays in first gear, if i go back to first and then to second it will shift ok, it does not happen all the time, maybe once in ten shifts.
Any one had this problem before?

Sound like it maybe the linkage joints slipping, I would check to see if they tight
