Same goes for me: I got the Michelin Pilot 335/30-18 to go on my Kodiak STX 18" wheels for the rear.

If you really want to push for a wider profile on those 13" wide rims there is a 345/30-18 made by Michelin, but in the Sport Cup pattern/compound, it comes with 6/32" tread as opposed to the 10/32" of the Pilot Sport.

I need tires for the rear and have found that the 18" tires are actually cheaper than the 17's. The 17's are getting harder to come by already as well. So I figure as long as I have to buy rear tires, may as well make the change now to the 18's on the rears. I also think it will balance the car out a little better appearance wise. Daryle at Kodiak is going to remake my 17 rears to 18's.
I have the Pilot Sports on the car now. The front tires I have are in perfect shape so I'll stay with the Pilot's for the rears. They have been a great tire.

That makes for a 26" dia. tire, not bad but I personally think it will be all rim and no tire and hence won't suit the Pantera aesthetically, a rice racer maybe, but the P car? Probably not, but I'm willing to keep an open mind until I get to see one mounted up.

The harsh ride one could expect from a 25 profile tire is another question.

Jim (Coyne) I doubt the 355 tire will fit in the wheel well of a narrow body car without major rubbing as the suspension deflects on bumps, so that 355 tire will probably be the exclusive right of you wide body owners. You guys have the heavier duty wheel bearings to take the loads of that big tire anyway.

I have plans to run 19" x 11" wheels on the back of 6018 because I have my eye on another tire, a 305/30R19, which only weighs 25 pounds. That is 5 to 9 pounds lighter than the 18" or 17" tires most owners are running.

Unfortunately that size is currently only available in Pirelli. Everybody knows that Yokohama is the best rubber, right?!

George the real reason to run 19 inch wheels on your car is to be able to use 17" diameter ceramic/carbon fiber discs. Those will be able to stop your car on a dime and give change. You will have to upgrade your hydraulics to take advantage though. Sixty to zero in 90 feet or less, I am betting. Big Grin

Our friend in Aust.Lazlo's awesome black GRP4 ( Last Newsleter cover - car )is running the 345/30's on 18 x14's which IMHO looks over-tyred and Iam sure will grid the rim on most curbs before touching the 'tyre curb' rubber. For this reason i chose 335/30's on a 18x13 rim. Works / looks gr8 i think.
What I would like to no frm u guys is what are u thinking about running up frt with these 18's in the rear ?
Agin IMHO, since I like a slight nose - down look I chose to go 16 x 9,5 + 245 / 40's.......Pics comin soon...

I have heard the 'widening' story re Laszlo's Grp4 arches but but only here on Postings on site. Did he say so in the article with his car on the cover recently? I havent received my Newsletter yet, but I have just fitted the same arches to my car ( frm Hall )and have found there to be ample room for the big tyres, although I am running 335/30's with 13in rims, not 345/30 with 14in rim and saw no reason for him to have done a tricky widening job, theres plenty of space, - but then his outset/offset might have been more extreme than mine....

I got my Kodiak wheels in 18x13 rear and 17x10 front to get that front down rake look too. Tires are the Michelin Pilot Sports 335/30-18 and 275/40-17.

But be careful, knowing tire size that individuals are using is one thing, but don't forget to find out what wheel backspacing/offset too as this will dictate where the wheel sits in the fender and will likely explain why some get away with tires that others say scrub. There was a quite a discussion during the group Kodiak wheel purchase on the various backspacings in use, a search with keyword 'Kodiak backspacing' should pull up the thread.

I removed my shock spacers and lowered the car with no adverse effects whatsoever. I thought the spacers were a US mandated item to raise the car up to meet federal headlight height minimum and they were not used on European cars anyway.
