how much threads should be showing on slave cylinder before I tighten the Jam Nut?

No possible answer. Depends on the clutch assembly you use and how its adjusted for free play.

When the piston in the slave is fully retracted you should have a free play on the clutch of a minimum of .100 to .125 adjust and tighten jam nut.
