I need to replace my slave cylider seals on the piston. It is an aftermarket cylinder (chrome or polished ss) that fits in the stock bracket although I have upgraded to the milled aluminum one Hall and the other vendors sell. There seems to be many different slave cylinders on the market. Do I measure the o.d. of the piston and tell the vendor that size? Also I have seen some advertised that they are "long throw" to fully disengage the clutch. Is this recommended/necessary on a Centerforce clutch?
thanks

First, the vendor that sold it to you should have rebuild kits available; I doubt if he has various sizes of long-throws around sop measuring should not be necessary. ALL 'long-throw' slaves have smaller bores than stock slave cylinders, incidently. Thats how they get the extra travel with a stock master- nothing's free, you know. There were two different sizes of stock clutch masters, too. Finally, many replacement clutch discs are slightly thicker than the DeTomaso-reworked units that were OEM, so a long-throw slave IS a good idea for ZF longevity regardless of what clutch is in there.
