Some guy thought my car was .......

I usualy have to tell them it isn't a Lambrogini. I think the Delta wing messes people up. I am going to take it off next paint job.

In Detroit I was alway asked if its a kit, here in Vegas its a rental.

You gotta love the worlds car experts. I had a guy insist (to me)my car was a Delorean, because Deloreans are silver and my GTS is silver and darker silver. Yeah the kit car think is always baffling because it is the same deal, a group of people have a "car expert" then he asks you where you got the kit...

My favorite misinformation--a guy asked me if I had the Ford or Oldsmobile motor in mine!? I said, "There wasn't an Olds option", whereupon he insisted that there was, because a friend of his had a Pantera with an Olds engine, and that it was stock. Sheesh, whatever...

i get Delorean all the time and bricklean lotus and every thing under the sun ....BUT PANTERA! AND WORSE OF ALL I HATE BEING CALED A KIT CAR OR WHAT KIND OF KIT IS THAT FROM!!

Mine is apparently a Lotus. I'm known locally as 'that bloke with the old Lotus'.

I even had someone argue with at the petrol station while I was filling up with fuel. Did he really think I was driving a Lotus and hadn't noticed?

Well -- there's one thing worse than being called a DeLorean -- at least they didn't call it a Bricklin....

Oh I don't know, people don't put 6cyl in briclins do they? Quality is about the same.

I love talking to people about the car! The ones who actually ask about it are more fun then the ones who assume they know.

And what exactly is wrong with a DeLorean?? And I thought that on this board we were all friends...Nice to know people make assumptions about a cars quality without owning one, next time ask an owner...Thanks alot

I always kinda liked the DeLorean, till I found out they didn't come with a bag of goodies! (Snif-Snif) DOH!

Here in SoCal, most people ask me if my Pantera is a Maserati.

Funny thing is, while driving my Viper GTS I was also asked if the Viper was a Maserati. "What is that, some kind of... Maserati?"

So it seems that if someone here sees an exotic car that they don't recognize as a Ferrari or Lambo, they immediately think it must be a Maserati. Because they've heard of a Maserati, they just aren't sure what they look like.
