A DIN sized radio will work, be careful cutting the dash. I tried to contact the major suppliers, Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer & JVC on their websites to find out if their CD units would work if installed vertically, none of them replied after a week, None of the local salespeople knew the answer either so I went with a Kenwood am-fm cassette with a dedicated 6 disc (10 is also available) changer to mount with the amp in the front trunk. Hall sells a unit (Kenwood, I think) that they claim will work vertically and when the radio is off it has the radio delete plate. Sounds nice but kinda pricey about $475, I got my radio/cassette, amp and CD changer for $485.
helo I have a stereo shop in okla. and just got my first pantera in feb. no a cd player will not work vertically, or not very well if you get a very good one it may skip only so often, but they are not made for that. A tape with cd changer up frount or rebild the center console. I put a 1/2 din pre-amp eq in dash and a din size 6 cd changer under dash where the glove box was, had to bild trim work.
the mask kenwood you can get at any stereo store. the ford alarm is a CODE power 1100 modal- we sell for 169 installed. and you can add power locks very easy. the motors are $19.95 ea.
