Space Shuttle landing, something to be thankful for

I was watching with the crew, at am east coast.I applaud the sucess! I'm also impressed that the Russian sub got helped. What a wonderful time we live in.

I've heard that NASA won't be sending any more space shuttles up until they get the heat shield issue resolved. It could take some time. I'm curious to see what kind of technological break-through this set back inspires.

What seems to have been tolerable before is now a major media event. Before a few tiles missing were just monitored. Now the news feeds on it.

I think of a couple movies where the space shuttles are used and beat up pretty bad and still make it back. The one with bruce willis, the oir rig crew blowing up the asteroids and then even Space cowboys where the sattelite breaks up over the front of the ship. I always had a hard time accepting the movies when they did that sort of thing. Although Space cowboys was one of my favorite movies.

The Space program is on new front. They will have to come up with something. As they have been doing it won't work anymore.

On a side note --- I haven't heard a sonic boom since last Saturday when I accidently found myself doing over 140MPH in my Pantera!
