I purchased a new speedo cable assembly from the guys in Reno. We discussed that I had a 1973 when determining which cable I needed, early or late. And like all things Pantera, mine is different. My right angle adapter has a piece that the inner cable goes into that protrudes a distance out of the housing. Therefore the cable housing will not seat onto the adaptor with the inner core is seated.

So I assume I have the wrong cable. Or that this adapter makes a difference. Pictures. Where did I go wrong?

The cable ends for the adapter.

Here you can see the space between the base of the cable and the adapter.

Have you connected the other end to the tach?

The two end fittings are NOT the same.

Is it possible you have the cable reversed?

The recess is about 1/2"
