Squared vs. rounded engine compartments

Boy this topic has been beaten to death The gt5-9189 posts has all the info.

Square sided engine compartment started with car 9101 to 9562, and 9601 to 9641 and are made by Embo. They appear fairly crude in that they're pieces of metal welded together. Kind of like a jigsaw puzzle.

Earlier cars had one solid panel with no weld seams.

Which one is stronger? My guess is they're both the same? Though I've heard of these same later coaches made by Embo having weak frame rails with suspension pieces pulling through the metal.

I've heard that the squared engine bay Panteras are stronger, and made better as well.
