Hey Lloyd, just doing some detailing and would like to add acorn nuts to the back cover. Any problems with replacing the nuts with acorn nuts one at a time? What should they be torque to?

8mm nuts torque is 18 to 22 lbs. Go for it!!

I've got 5 studs on the rear cover that are too long and would have to cut or ground to allow the acorn nuts to fit tight against the cover. You see any problems with that?

You can cut the studs but don't pull them out and turn them around to put the short side in.One of the studs will stick through
so far that it will stop the reverse from engagement and will pop out of gear. I would use a DEATH WHEEL to cut the studs.
