I purchased the stainless steel water tube kit and am having great difficulty installing the tube coming off the water pump. I just can't seem to align this tube with the water tube that runs under the car without the shifter rod interfering. It almost seems as though it's about an inch too short. In fact, when compared to the stock hose and tube which I just removed (yes, way overdue), the angle is slightly different as well. Any tips that may help get this on would be greatly appreciated.

That tube, with the limited access we have both above or below the car, is a true b... to install. Ford changed the original hose to this tube due to many instances of the vibrating gearshift rod sawing through the plain hose. The smaller dia. metal tube gives a little more clearance. It may be that the connecting hose above and below should be a little longer. Try attaching the upper & lower hoses to the convoluted tube, then attach the lower tube to the nder-car longitudinal one. Finally, attach the upper hose. If its too short, your local auto parts store will have something cheap thats longer, even if you need to cut it from a longer hose Just be sure to get a good brand- you don't want a maginal part in here waiting for an on-the-road excuse to fail....
Thanks for your reply, Jack. I gave it another shot this evening and was able to get it connected but Im not 100% happy with it yet. As you said, its a real b**** to get on. The convoluted tube hits the emergency brake bracket, which doesnt allow it to align with the long tube making it difficult to connect with a straight piece of hose. I installed the remaining tubes and hoses, stainless water tanks and the new radiator. Ill revisit the convoluted tube after I finish up with the fans and relocating the water temp sensor. Ive read enough about the temp sensor on this forum to know Im in for a real good time. Thanks again, Jack.
