I own a 1973 pantera, I am in the process of rebuilding the steering rack or replacing the steering rack bushing, looking for technical advice I found The Pantera Place after reading the rebuild procedure(best I've seen so far)I was still a little unclear on a couple of things. My car had the twisted boot clamps, original never removed? upon taking the rack apart I found no bushing on the driver side, the passenger side had a steel collar with some sort of packing inside secured with a set screw, which came out with little effort, the original bushing?. What I read said nothing about the original bushing it did mention the new one need to be pounded in unless you got a slightly smaller one. Also instructed to drill through the rack housing for a set screw(which I already have) to secure the new slightly smaller bushing, . Can anybody clear things up,? I sure would like to see a steering rack diagram showing all the parts
