Dear Loyd
While I have the transaxle out I removed the inspection plate. I found the inside of the case to be spotless, the trans oil was very clean, the ring gear is safety wired and the ring and pinion look new if not very close to new. And the magnet in the drain plug was also clean.
My concern is that during the Tech inspection at Pocono back on Labor day. Jumpin Joe Moore grabbed and pulled up and down on the inside u-joint on the driver's side and said that he thought that it had a bit to much play in it. He asked if the gear box whined, which it does not. He suggested that it might be worth having someone take a look at this and fix the free play in this stub axle's bearing. He also said that if it started to whine, that I should park it and get it fixed.
So now I have the transaxle out and on the bench. Can I simply pull those side plates that appear to be holding the stub axles in and fix/adjust it?????????
What do you think....................Jersey Doug.H #6434
