The whine of the straight cut gears in the super charger is intoxicating, isn't it Brad?
Superchargers are not direct driven, they always have gears in them. If the gears are straight cut, they whine. If the gears are bevel cut, they're quieter.
You can replicate that sound with a cam drive using straight cut gears.
While the sound is fun to listen to in someone else's car, it is a major discomfort in any car used to drive any distance.
I've seen the B&M blower set up (for the Cleveland) used in Panteras, but that set up is no longer available. I've only seen one for sale recently, and it was not complete. If B&M does not suport that set up with parts, it would be impossible to rebuild, like the Magna-Chargers.
Brad, you have a PI Motorsports hammer motor, which is a windsor. Things are not so dismal for a Windsor motor, lots of supercharging opportunities exist. Go to the Kenne Bell web site and check it out.
Sean Hyland sells blown 4.6 liter modular motors in the crate. You could drop one of those in!
