As a family, we talked tonight about what it means to be a family, and what comprises a family. We talked about the nuclear family and about non-traditional families. My oldest child, just 6 years old, said "Some families have a dad, a mom, kids, and sometimes even teenagers".

Apparently teenagers aren't always part of the traditional family.

Corey,

Good topic.
The traditional view of a "family" is almost gone.

My wife teaches high school so she sees all sorts of "families."

I was raised in that traditional family environment and we are trying to raise our twins (7 yrs) in that as well.

I get up at 4am to exercise, help get the kids and animals (cat and dog) moving in the morning, go to work early enough to come home reasonable, eat dinner as a family every night, be part of the bedtime routine, when they are in bed I work on the laptop for work or house projects, then it is lights out at 11pm.

Just important to be that FAMILY.
