The Big Kahuna

In case you haven't seen the story on Yahoo news, the original Big Kahuna of Malibu, a legend of the southern California surf scene, has passed away. For about two years in the late 1950s he lived in a shack on Malibu beach; the escapades of this larger than life Malibu beach bum became the basis for all the Beach Party & Gidget movies of the 1960s.

His name was Terry Tracy, he was 77 years old.
