I received some feedback that some members do not know about Google Street Scene. Google has vehicles that are mapping all the streets with 360 cameras. To use it go to Google maps here http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl and enter the address you want or just zoom down to the street you want. When you get close grab the little man at the top of the zoom bar and drag it to the street. Once on the street you can move around and see things 360 around as well as move up and down the street. I’ve attached a clip of Hall Pantera (no Panteras in view) so you can get the idea of the view and here is the link to the view

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...bp=12,246.55,,0,5.46

Grab the screen to move around. I tried PI Motorsports but the trees were blocking the view.

So let’s start finding those Panteras!

And here is copy of the pic in case the corrected link doesn't work.

PanTTera, I can see my Goose and someone else's Cat. I'll let him post it if he wants. If there are 2 theres gotta be more.

Well, it seems Google re-did my street sometime earlier this year. I was working on my son's car in the driveway, and had the garage door open. Sadly, even though I did have the garage lights on, the bright sunlight was too much contrast to my garage lights. So 2511, painted a dark metallic titanium silver, doesn't show up very much.

BUT, if you look closely, at the end of the arrow is the blue-white 'Isis" emblem that is in the center of my L-model bumper.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Big Grin

(The light blue item is a Rubbermaid tub).

quote:
How do you post the pic ?

Not too damn easily. Smiler

I first did a full-screen capture of the entire Google view, all the headers and side info, after zooming in on the correct section.

Then I did a cropped screen capture of just the section I wanted to post.

On my Mac, full screen capture is shift-command-3.

To get the cropping tool, it is shift-command-4.

Of course, anything posted to the forum has to be 300kb or less.

Ok, Technically it isn't Google Street View, but I did find another Pantera using bing Maps "Bird's Eye View" feature. (zoom into the area you want, and if the "Bird's Eye" label is lit up, then you can click on it, zoom in and rotate around what you're interested in) ... http://www.bing.com/maps/

In this image, the Pantera is the lower of the 2 yellow cars - I couldn't zoom any closer ...

I was out tooling in the MG one day and drove past a google street view car. I kept an eye out on street view. It took about a year and a half for it to show up:

I was trying to find a company on street view one time. I knew about it's location but was not sure. I was trying to read company signs, mailboxes etc. I was surprised how much work they go through to erase or blur such information.
