Does anybody know what threads are used for the front calipers bolts (the ones that attach the calipers to the spindles) - and maybe a source for buying new high strength bolts in non std lengths
When I did my Wilwood (race) upgrade, I used grade 8, so the equivalent in metric, but if memory serves me I also took the holes out from 12mm to 1/2" S.A.E. shouldered fine thread size, then a 1/2" aluminum bracket drilled to match the caliper mounts.
it is 8.8 (strength) Feingewinde (1.25) on M12 nothing wild only the 1.25 you need to find..and it has that stem without threads! (as far as I can recap) so need to dig. For me as I just did rework everything it was hard to find in Germany hence kept the old once
Goin racing? this is just the upgrades to the rear suspension. Can you see the 10 upgrades to racing? This is what overkill looks like, love "Stuttgart" c.v. axles. Good luck to you Matthias!
FWIW, Gr 5 SAE= gr 8.8 ISO (metric). GR-8 SAE= gr 10.9 ISO (metric). May be overkill for your application; if you think not, be sure to select drilled-head bolts for safety wire. Stock french-locks (bent tabs) are ineffective for racing.
