Hello, I own two Panteras that have the rockers painted to match the body. I will be getting a repaint this winter. I see alot of guys painting the rockers in black. Any body have any thoughts on this?

Thanks DetroitDetomaso
All of the standard 1971 through 1974 Panteras had black rockers from the factory. I prefer the look of Panteras with black rockers.
My car is painted black at the rockers and I think it looks less bulky. Like a lean cat without the paunch. I am also in the Detroit metro area where are you getting your car painted? I am in the process of looking for a quality job.
It is one of the great things about the Pantera, you can do it however you please, I had the seams filled, and the body, rockers, engine compartment and undercarriage are all the same color, Diablo Rosso (the Devil's Red) Unless you are doing a concourse restoration, do it the way you want it.
When I found my Pantera it had body color (scarlet red) rockers. It never did look right until I painted them black. It made an amazing improvement! Not a big project!
