Toggle Switch

It is not a factory switch. I have seen owners mount ignition shut off switches to deter theft in that location. It may also have served an ancillary electrical device such as remote antenna, suspension lift, tail light cut-off :^)

Thanks JT - Antenna makes sense I guess as it's a two way toggle and getting power from splicing in to the brown cable and had its own seperate inline fuse...

I'll see how I can creatively deal with either hiding a hole or finding something to do with the switch - ignition shut off makes some sense as a starting point.

I had one hidden behind the dash on mine, went to a electric fuel pump at one time.

Is it an on/off or momentary contact switch?

In the mid '80's I bought a radiator fan kit from Pantera Performance that came with a momentary contact switch. It would turn the overkill fans off when you depressed it. It seems the fans drew tons of current. The switch disabled the fans during a hot start so you had 100% of battery power available to start the car.

That's where the dealers typically installed the antenna switch.

I have a switch in that location that raises and lowers the antennae for the radio.

Momentary in both directions. I do have a radio cutout on this one so antenna makes sense.

Fuel pump cut out for future use makes more sense.

Or, I could put the nitrous system back in I guess too Rocky.

I HAD an array of switches on both sides of the steering column. I do seem to recall one did raise and lower the antenna.

I've got switch envy now... I'm going tyo have to install an array of at least 6 now... just cos.
