"This will be the stongest block on the market"-David Weiss (President of R&D at Eck Industries.)

We feel this is a pretty impressive statement about the New Track Boss Cleveland block. But let's face it, we all know anybody can make statements. We all have opinions and think our product is the best. So ... (1) Who is Eck Industries and (2) Why do they claim this?

WHO IS ECK INDUSTRIES

Quoting Dave, the President of R&D

“Eck Industries, Specialists in Premium Aluminum Castings, is in production of the Track Boss Cleveland block using the new Alcoa alloy C3A1. That alloy has higher strength at operational temperature than any incumbent cast block material. Over a decade of research with Alcoa's Technical Center scientists culminated in an alloy solution suitable for components exposed to the elevated temperatures in high performance engines. The alloy uses micro-alloying additions for optimal high temperature strength and creep resistance. This strength, combined with superior cast ability and state of the art casting techniques, combine to produce one of the most durable high performance blocks in the market today.”

Two Ford products cast by Eck Industries, which you are probably familiar with are:
(1) The C302B cylinder head they cast for Nascar in the early 80's.
(2) The engine blocks for the Ford GT in 2005 & 2006

WHY DO THEY MAKE THE CLAIMS THEY DO

Eck Industries has used the New Alcoa C3A1 alloy in the Aviation & Aerospace products for a little time. The New Track Boss Cleveland block will be the first automotive block to be cast with this alloy. There will possibly be more automotive blocks cast with this alloy in the future, but it is a privilege to be asked if we would like to be the first. In some cases some manufactures may not spend the extra money and feel what they have is "good enough."

There are a limited number of foundries allowed to have axcess to the alloy, thus the number of blocks cast with this alloy may be limited in the future. We have shared a page out of the Dart catalog. They have done a very nice job of describing properties of different alloys. So when you consider the properties of the new C3A1 alloy and Eck Industries reputation, these factors may lead you to conclude the new Track Boss Cleveland block shall possibly be the strongest block on the market.
