This month on "Rides" a TV program on A&E or the History Channel they are featuring a tour of the Lamborghini factory. You'll see the factory workers installing axle bearings with a press, 4' long torque wrenching the axle nuts, orthroscopic fiber optic camera inspection of the aluminum engine block and heads, aluminum a-arms suspension assemblies, and a lot of the stuff we talk about and do with our Pantera's.

Maybe "Rides" should go the POCA Vegas meet, eh? Talk about us a little too. I think so. Let's see Jack and Dave and Gary and a few others on the tube!! I'd record that!!!

Thanks for the encouragement Mark. I'm surfing the TLC/Rides website right now to see what I can get to happen. I'm looking for a link to send an e-mail to the producer of "Rides" to try and persuade him/them to go to the POCA Vegas meet and do a story for next season. Anyway, here's a link to the TLC story on the Lamborghini Mucialago Roadster being built at the Lamborghini factory and the annual Lamborghini Running of the Raging Bulls, which meets annually in Santa Monica, CA and does their club run, just like we do.

I see a story line in my head. After 30 years, the Pantera is still turning heads when their owners take them out of the garage. Pantera owners have two clubs which have been in existence almost as long as their cars, POCA and Pantera International. Annually, in April, they meet and display their cars, and have track events, where they rent a road racing circuit and push their cars to the limit. There are safety inspections and open track time, where anyone can go out on the track and then there is a "No Kidding Around" race at the end of the second day. Panteras from all over the USA come to display their cars, race their cars or just have a little track time to see what their cars can do in a safe, lawful environment. The participants help each other work on their cars and Pantera specialty vendors display their latest offerings for performance or upgraded technology to bolt right on to a stock Pantera. The range of club members includes young and old, mechanically brilliant to mechanically challenged, and their "Rides" include factory stock "survivors" to tricked out racing Panteras with racing pedigrees to show Panteras to supercharged nitrous injected Panteras producing 750 horsepower. The clubs have websites where members exchange information about repairing, maintaining, upgrading or modifying their Panteras, or can just advertise for parts they are looking for or have for sale. The Pantera community wants to encourage car enthusiasts worldwide to get out and drive their "Rides" and when the desire arises to push their "Rides" to the limit, to do it at a track, among friends, and in the safest way possible.

When I contact these folks I'll put them in touch with Dave Adler, POCA President John Taphorn, and PCNC "Prez" Bob Benson. But, hey, you fellas can help me out here too, since I have to get back to work right now. If you beat me to the task of contacting the producer of "Rides" let me know, so I don't have to run the touchdown all the way in, 100 yards, all by myself.
