Uneven tire size

I am running 285/35/18 Nito Nt05 in the rear, their are about 500 miles on the tires and little wear ( maybe 1/16"). The driver side tire is defective, can I get aw3ay with a new tire just on one side and the 500 mile tire on the other? I remember a former post on running uneven tires can cause transmission problems.

I can't answer specifically for the ZF, but I have seen other cars specify no more than 1/16".

does your tire shop offer shaving?

Unless you did 500 miles of burnouts, I would imagine your tire has no measurable wear within only 500 miles.
