Unsprung length

I found this online;

Rear OEM Springs:
Free length: 13 in.
Rate: 350 lbs/in.
installed length: 10 13/16ths in
# coils: 9+2 ends
Coil OD: 4 3/8 in.
Wire dia: 0 589 in.

Front OEM springs:
Rate: 220 lbs/in
Coils: 7 + 2 ends
Wire Dia: 0.5 in.
Mean coil dia: 3.875 in

I'm not sure why you've asked this question, but the usual reason has to do with aftermarket springs that aren't long enough. Such as the springs in my Pantera. I just put up with it, but there is a better solution.

When you're dealing with small diameter and "stiffer" aftermarket springs designed for "coil over" aftermarket shocks they are never the proper length out of the box. To take up the slack the spring manufacturers make very weak springs designed to fit in the gap between the main springs and the shock pre-load adjusters. Forgive me, at the moment I can't remember what those springs called. Some of you guys with a better memory will know.

using the info I found for the front, my SWAG for thier free lenght would be 10".

when you get yours off, how about post your measurements?

You need a spring compressor to get them loose from the coil-over bodies....
