Urgently needed: Picture of original Pantera wheel center cap

I have bought a set of 4 Pantera wheel logo centers (Isis) from Modena via ebay. They were described on ebay as "original de Tomaso logo for wheel from the old factory".

I received 4 of the reproduction center logos. They are quite a bargain for $5 each, as sold by Tara at Hall.......... They are NOT quite a bargain for what I just paid for them, thinking they were "original de Tomaso logo for wheel from the old factory".


I have been told by the seller, that they must be original, because they are from the old factory.

I am sending them back under his protest, but I would appreciate any pictures of an original center logo disc to help persuade my case.

I believe also that the originals are plated brass, but I don't think they were enamelled. Likely just screen printed. The reproductions are done in a similar manner (I think) but are typically done on thin aluminum discs.

The original Vallelunga and Mangusta center discs are brass, stamped then chrome plated and enamelled. The ridges of the "T" and lines are raised, but this was not the case with production Pantera discs. I can't say what was provided on the early Pushbutton cars, but I would get a mixture of whatever was left in the bin the factory.

I thought I put my original center caps with the rest I've accumulated but I don't know where they are. I do recall they were brass and painted. All I have are some old aftermarket ones I got from Hall in the 80's (both on aluminum, one with blue and white and the other black. Dennis had a Mangusta and still has the PB Pantera and he gave me a set of his originals that's chrome or nickle-plated brass, raised border and "I" but not sure from which car.

A "part from the old factory" does not mean it is old. The factory was opend until 2003. They changed there supliers over the years. The decals you got, came from there. That is all, RS Corse said. De Tomaso never made any part in the factory. It was just an assembly line.
You should take it in the book "learning money".
Many parts RS Corse offers today are sourced from Wilkinson made anywhere, except in Italy.
