I didn't want to wrap the whole car, so one of my designers came up with an idea to wrap the hood and vinyl the front air dam, roof and back deck lid. I would narrow the strip on the roof to match the width of the hood.

What do you guys think? Not too horrible, right? Anyone think this is blasphemous? (sorry for the crappy photo quality)

Forget the roof. Doesn't look right blacked out with the air dam, hood and rear decklid. Stick with blacking out the hood and decklid like the GTS cars were - very striking combination, and a nice way to promote your clothing line. The blackout on the lower front center of the air dam works too.
I did a version with a white roof (like the GTS) but it felt incomplete. I will look at it again.

I really like the front airdam with the black - that is definitely getting done.

What do you think about the little white stip between the hood and the front grill? I was afraid I would lose the crisp front edge of the car if that went black.

I haven't talked to my accountant about a write off yet. I wonder what she will say. Hmmmmmm.

It ties the front together. I like it.

There is a guy here in ATL that has a Ford GT and he uses it in some business promotions. He has expensed everything through his business. (purchase/insurance/maintenance)It would be worth a call to your accountant.
In my opinion the car is used for business 100% of the time. Its a moving billboard. Moving billboards cost A LOT to maintain. They have to accelerate quickly to catch up to potential customers and they have to stop quickly in case someone starts to swerve over while looking at it. They have to be loud enough to catch someones attention who might be looking the other way.Looks like that supercharger ,Brembo and big bore exhaust setup can be written off 100%. Good luck

Blaine, I like the way you think! Big Grin

Robert, did you consider a very light graphic on the roof vs. the solid black. Consider the impact of a black roof in the Vegas sun...

I think the tax deductibility will be impacted by what percentage of use is actually legitimate work vs. Sunday pleasure drives. Of course, you will keep a log book to verify where the car was used for promotional purposes, right? Wink
Yes! I knew there was a way to deduct a twin-turbo setup.

I own the car, not the company. This is a political issue as I have a partner. We take our car deductions on our personal taxes rather than the corporate taxes to avoid the perception of inequality. We do not have cars of equal value.

I think I might go with a light graphic rather than the solid black. Or maybe nothing at all...I don't want to cover the car with art as I need to retain SOME dignity. :-)

I wonder what "legitimate work" is. Sunday drives with car guys is actually when the car will be doing its job. As is going to the mall. And the value of driving it five miles for a photo shoot is higher than the fuel it takes to get there. I do have a log book.

You are correct, I need to MAKE money before I can write anything off. Bwahaahaaaa. When are those dang shirts going to get here????

I think we're getting into S or C corp issues now. That's between you, your accountant and your partner. You should use the car legitimately for your business and be able to support that with some documentation. I was audited and the agent didn't care what brand was on the car, only that I used the right depreciation schedule.

Been an S corp since 1995. I would always use it legitimately, and will be able to support with documentation. I don't even go into gray areas with taxes. I was kidding about the supercharger. :-)
