This is the deal that I know of as fact:

2008 Viper convertible

-- 3,000 miles on odometer
-- never hit or damaged
-- 600 horsepower
-- Viper Green color; stripe delete
-- navigation
-- manual 6 speed
-- 'H' spoke alloy wheels
-- bought from private party for $65,000

I rode in this car and it borders on scary. It really reminds me of a wild roller coaster ride. The acceleration is motorcycle like; and it pulls like a freight train. I can see why these high horsepower cars are being parted out after their drivers lose it. All it takes is a bit of sand on a corner when you are goosing it and the back end will come right around.

Of course our mid engine cars will handle much better than those front engined Vipers or Vettes........

Isn't the 2001 Viper a Gen II, or is it a Gen III car? I would not purchase a Gen II car at any price -- just too hot in the cabin and not very refined on the handling. $28K seems a little high for what the car is. Honestly, for $65K you get a convertible and something that handles like a BMW M car; it is a lot of car for $65K, IMHO.
