In the start of the Hawaii 5-0 episode "Death On Tantalus Mountain", Richardo Montalban has a yellow Pre L Pantera that is sabotaged and crashes before being replaced by my pushbutton. I tracked this car down (well almost) and this is the information that I received:

"The guy's name is Antoine Botaga and his salon is on Kapiolani and Piikoi (between the entrances of IHOP and the army recruiting office). The person that bought the Pantera from him, I believe, was John Cogan, M.D., a cardiologist in Honolulu. (Interestingly, I went to the same high school as John in the early 60's.) John renovated the car twice (because he drove it very hard) and sold it to a contractor in Sweden, where the car probably resides."

Good question on the VIN I missed a button car request for info on the mailing list....in France or at least Europe. If we find a VIN we can send it to Allen Morris..

Unfortunately, no VIN number is available as of yet. I will try to check further. The car was a 71/72 Pre L but not a pushbutton model.

Mystery solved! I've seen this car's story before and never realized that it was the yellow 5-0 Pantera.

I received Email from Klaus, the car is still in Sweden. He lives in Florida with another Pantera!
