It has retractable headlights which leads me to believe its probably 1960's, and it has a long bonnet no doubt concealing an in-line 6 or V12 motor.

Alex Alexeenko is a Ukrainian web designer, info about him & his business is available on the net. He seems to be fluent in English, contact him & ask if he has any info about the car, since his name is on the picture.

I dont think it's Japanese. The windscreen and the bench seat would suggest 50's, but the pop up headlights would suggest late 60's. I think it's a 50's Corvette windscreen because the Americans where the first to do the radically curved glass. I cant think of any European car with a windscreen quite like that. The 1955 Alfa Giulietta prototype(pictured below)had curved glass but not the production cars.

If this car was made from fibreglass it would be much less significant - it's because it's clearly made from steel that it bugs the hell out of me! Prototypes are normal made from ally. Maybe it's a custom car? I hope not..

Is it possible that the car is a one-off or home-modified?

I'm just glad it's been solved and we can all get back to our real jobs. Not that it hasn't been a fun 2 1/2 weeks of surfing and searching, but I think there may be a few folks who have lost some weight and were not sleeping ... Mark, I'm not talking about Will! Wink

Dang Ron, I was going to give you a big kudos for your sleuth work ... well I think you still deserve some credit for finding the thread on Ferrari Chat.

Well, they do Have an "other" Italian catagory, I am just trying to spread the DeTomaso awareness. Actually, they do give us P-Car owners positive feedback.
