I'm thinking about changing my wheels.

Presently; Pantera East Campy Clones. 16 x 8 with 245/45's and 17 x 11 335/35's. Tires are Dunlop SP Sports.

Wanting to go to Hall MK X GRP IV with Knock-off wings (can't seem to let go of my Sting Ray days...)

17 x 8 with 245/40's fronts which will work fine but 18 x 13 rears? Any one ever mount this with stock body and suspension? I don't even know if Hall sells the rears although Pantera East has their version. I want to change tires to Michelin Pilots.

Any sage advice and pictures?

Any one interested in my Campy clone set? (Lugs, Logo centers, Jan 2006 with 1500 miles > Perfect)

Thanks for the much needed help.

I don't think Hall ever produced anything larger than 17". The person who will know is Tara or Bev at Hall Panteras.

Its more normal to see 12" wheels in the back of a narrow bodied car with the 18" wheels. I can't say if there is a fitment issue with a 13" wide wheel in the 18" diameter. The issue is the rear wheels come close to rubbing the lower control arm. This limits 17" wheels to about 11" in width.

The outer edge of the wheel remains in the same place regardless of the width of the wheel. This is to align the outer edge of the tire so that it is as far out from under the wheel well as possible without rubbing the fender lip. So any increase in width of the wheel is all towards the center of the car.

UPDATE: The wheels and tires were put in service May 2006 on # 3463. The useage mileage is @ 1000 prox. Perfect Condition. See this post for exact brand and sizes. The entire set cost $ 3300 new. I want brand new wheels and tires so no trades please. I am in no rush and still deciding on what to do. Offers around the low $ 2000 range will be considered. Thanks to all who have PM'd me. Pics to anyone interested or see # 3463 "Here in West Hills" post 12/18/06 in the photo gallery forum.

Thanks, Dave

p.s. Has anyone mounted 18 x 12's on a stock body-suspension car? Still looking for more advice/info/pics.
I have the 18X11 rear wheels on my stock body car. I will have to check to see if there is clearance to go inboard more as the tire is already out the edge of the body. I suspect if the lower a arm is not in the way the muffler will be. I think the wider rear rims the vendor offers are only for group 4 style cars with the wrong offset for your car.
