wheel off-set

I just orderd some boyd wheels for my stock body 72 pantera. 16"x8" fr. & 17"x11" rear.
the man at boyd told me the off-set is 5.3" inside for fr. and 6.5" inside for rear, is this ok? someone said it will not work. tires are pilot sports 245/45/16 and 335/35/17

The 8' front rim along with the 45 series tire and the 5.5 offset may cause rubbing.
But you also ndicated a 16" front wheel so you may be okay. I used a 6.25 off-set with the same dimension rear wheel and tire in the rear and the tires are VERY close to the stock mufflers, but they work and look great.
