You're the only guy I know who would cook marshmallows on tie rods.

Glad you're okay and in good humor.

I was speaking in Anaheim yesterday and from the plane coming in I could see an orange haze from the sky for miles. Quite a sight. I'm glad the wind subsided to a point of control.

Give us an update of yours and other nearby CA member's situation when you can.
Tuesday night I watched as the flames crested the hill behind my home, and then they stopped... and retreated. Wednesday morning, no more smoke, the winds had died down, the temperatures were cooler, the air was more breathable, the highway in my valley was reopened. By Thursday the desert winds were gone, the ocean breezes returned. The evening temperatures which had been running 80 degrees or hotter, are now in the low 60s. We were very lucky, the desert winds only lasted 4 to 5 days, they can last up to 2 weeks.

There is still a lot of smoke in the air in the LA basin. My valley has the odor of a camp fire, that will be with us for weeks to come, or until it rains. I have to get out this weekend and vacuum the ashes out of the car, wash the sidewalks and patio down. For infants, the elderly, people with with breathing disorders like ashtma, the particles lingering in the air makes it hard for them to breath.

Fillmore escaped any major fire this year. The folks in Santa Clarita, 20 miles to the east, were not so lucky, that fire entered developed neighborhoods and burned houses.

Yes,,, I hope all is well with George,,,, and I think Dave A. also lives in an area that has been affected by the fires. I hope all the families are OK

I have had a team of tech’s working all week within the Inland Empire providing Communication’s support for local FEMA / Fire / Sheriff emergency operations. It is whooping my ass….. It is sad to see all the people suffering due to the fires.
