White Panteras

I've noticed several white Panteras that have not sold or have sold for far less than they are worth.

First it was the very stock and very pristine original Pantera at Barett-Jackson which sold in the mid-30's while a highly modified Pantera sold in the 50's during the same auction.

Next was the white GT-5 conversion recently on ebay which has loads of updates. It initially sold on ebay but couldn't sell the second time. Perhaps because it was brought back to auction too quickly??

And now there's a beautiful white GTS that's been for sale for quite a while and is now on ebay unable to garner a single bid.

Just a coincidence?

It has to be some kind of physcological factor there. It would seem anyway.

I don't think it has to due with the color being white-at least I hope not as mine is white! Just a matter a features, modifications, etc.

You may be right, except all three examples I listed pretty much run the gamet as far as Panteras..

The white Barrett-Jackson Pantera was as pristine and stock pantera as I've seen and sold in the mid-30s. Way below its market value IMO. Meanwhile, a heavily modified Pantera sold in the mid-50s during this same auction.

Personally color is not a big deal for me. But, its just something I've noticed.

Seems hard to apply any logic to what goes on at the Barret Jackson acutions. Was the white one on the BJ auction sold on TV?

As a child I was taught to never play inside a refrigerator, if the door closes I would be locked in and suffocate.

Perhaps some people have an aversion for white sports cars because they look like appliances

Lucky for the rest of us stainless (silver) appliances are now all the rage and soon we'll be able to get silver Panteras for next to nothing as well.

Kevin, do you happen to know what the white GT-5 conversion brought when it first sold on Ebay?

I am looking at buying the car, and would love any information on the car. There is quite an impressive roster of parts and mods, but no actual documentation to back it up.
