Well,
They closed off the voting for the regular portion of the contest, and it's hard to guess what happened in the end, on Sunday evening there were 82 cars in the lineup, on Monday morning, only 62 cars - of the 20 that disappeared, two were in the top 10 (#s 4 and 7 in the table on the left aren't in the table on the right)
... but today, if you go to the main page one of the two that disappeared yesterday is there in a head to head voting competition with another of the top 8.

Voting in this portion of the contest requires you login through Facebook, so if/when a Pantera shows up in the head-to-head portion of the event, hopefully David/Will or someone here will get the word out.

Thanks for the interest. Turns out there were quite a few cheaters caught in this campaign. Never the less 4072 was picked as a judges entry along with 3 other cars (F40 being one). Those who obtained the high votes now must participate in a round robin vote. Please find attached a copy of the email sent late last night; Before you read it, on behalf of Will, Ralph and myself thank you all for your support! Unfortunately only 1 Pantera made it despite all of our efforts. I truly wanted all 3 to be present to send a message.

Congratulations,

Your vehicle has been selected to move forward in the Muscle Car Matchup contest.

Starting Tuesday, January 17th (tomorrow) the following vehicles will participate in a one-day instant run-off to select the four finalists invited to the Canadian International Autoshow.

Additionally, four vehicles have been selected by the Canadian International AutoShow to receive automatic invitations as our Judging Staff's picks.

The following fan-chosen vehicles will be voted on in the final round, and according to the below schedule:

Fan-vote Semifinalists:

January 17th:
Mike Gill (1994 Chevy Corvette ZR-1) vs. Abdurrahman Eddeb (2016 Corvette Z06)

January 18th:
George Vigh (1971 Dodge Dart Swinger) vs. Gustav Jendrosch (1982 Chevy El Camino)

January 19th:
John Antoniadis (1977 Trans Am) vs. Paul Gaspar (1991 Ford Mustang)

January 20th:
Ryan Willian Buchan (1977 Chevrolet Camaro) vs. James Smith (2011 Corvette ZR1)

Judge's Picks:

Phil Trigiani 1991 Ferrari F40
Brian Adams 1969 Chevrolet Corvette
Randy Westlake 1967 Ford Fastback
David Cantagallo 1973 De Tomaso Pantera

We'll be in touch shortly with those selected as finalists, and our Judge's picks to make logistical arrangements for display at the 2017 Canadian International AutoShow.
Congratulations Dave! Glad one of the Panteras made it through... although if they were to pull out cars that used vote trading websites (e.g. a car owner asks for votes for his entry and he'll in turn vote for people in contests for whatever they are trying to win (about which he could care less ... like best photo of a bowl of chili, or video of a squirrel old lip-syncing something by A Flock of Seagulls)), then Will would have moved up in the rankings and we may have seen 2 cars there. I'd love to see the IP addresses of the votes on some of those cars, if they were from B.R.I.C.K. countries, then you could be pretty sure a good percentage were not legitimate ... 3 of the top entries were able to suddenly bump their numbers by 30-40% in the last day of voting - when you've already got thousands of votes over many weeks of a contest, where do you suddenly pull over a thousand admirers in the final hours?

I'm not surprised by the low count on the 3rd Pantera, it only showed up in the last few days when virtually nobody earned many votes except the top cars. However, I was under the impression that the owner is in NY state (blurred out plate in the photo looks like it's from NY), so he wouldn't qualify for the contest even had he gotten sufficient votes - maybe it's now an Ontario car and just an old picture from earlier in it's life. I still voted for him just in case.

I hope to put aside some time to get down to the show and see you & the car!
Thanks I am very excited to get the brand some attention against the dealership competitors. Even though 4072 received over 1136 votes she was invited up on the judges pick. The f40 only had 300 votes and was also invited. Funny I am watching the 8car round Robbin and those cars that had over 3000 votes are barely breaking 100. Legendary auto must have done the judges pick as a result of the blatant cheaters. Again I was hoping for us to make a three way showing but I am truly thankful for the Pantera support and that of the employees at my work. DC
