Hello,, I am looking to buy a pantera, Should I stay away from dash 1's? Are they more money to fix? Are the repair parts going to run out soon ?,,, will I have to replace it with a dash 2 someday ? Or have I lost my mind and need to buy a car with a 1 or 2.
Are dash 1's stonger than dash 2's ?

I would ask the seller if they have a service record on the ZF,that goes for anyone looking to buy. If not, you may get a problem that cost you in the end. /1 or /2 are both good if in good working order,the /2 is an updated box from the /1 like the M1 is to the /2 but all are good and we service all of them.

Can you tell me how to tell the difference between the two types? Is there an external way to visually check? Thanks, Tim

There is a tag on the housing. Serial number with either a /1 or /2. Also the -1 uses 4 bolts in the bellhousing, the -2 5 (and 2 on the inside).
