If this is the car I'm thinking of, then I have seen it.

It's reputed to be a somewhat special car, built for someone close to the family as the ad says. It's also reputed to have a top speed above what the ad says.

My understanding is that it has been for sale for a long time, primarily due to a somewhat elevated asking price.

I spoke to the owner in 1999 at the DeTomaso factory about the car, before it went up for sale (I think).
I am very new to purchasing classic cars. I am considering a late model pantera, left hand drive for use on weekends in the usa. I am looking for the best of the best, no problem vehical if such an example exists. I have just subscribed and have alot to learn and would appreciate your help and patience as I become informed. I am curious about this vehicle and have no experience with importing a unique vehicle and can use a little help with does and due nots.
Bob,

Welcome to the internet community, aka the DTIC. The owners & enthusiasts here are some great people, the best part of Pantera ownership is getting to socialize with these folks. I think you'll find them very helpful. My suggestion is to post some questions in the "ownership issues forum", everybody will be more than willing to help out.

George
