The third new oil pressure gauge was the charm. It came from PARTS GEEK and works well. The pressure reads constant at constant RPMs and fluctuates as you'd expect when RPM's change.

I had to buy three senders as well until I got a good one..
As I've said before, these mismatched senders are criminally inaccurate. I once tested 10 different senders all the same brand, and got 8 different pressures on my factory gauge. So I selected the one that gave the closest reading to a cheap mechanical gauge mounted on a T fitting with the sender. I use the stock gauge to tell if the engine is running. If I want to see what the actual oil pressure is, I open the deck lid and look at the mechanical gauge. Works for me....
I replace mine with a VDO mechanical gauge that Gary Hall used to sell. Never looked back. Accurate as heck.
Yes, oil pressure sender. I do have two gauges now, one on the dash and one by the sending unit. They don't quite agree with each other, but it's close enough. I'm not beating up on the motor anymore, so any oil pressure is good.
