I am looking for a wiring diagram. The tachometer does not work. An msd ignition system was installed elsewhere and I cannot find the tach wire. Any help would be appreciated.

THE TACH WIRE ON MY 74L COMING OUT OF THE WIRE BUNDLE(FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FIREWALL AT THE ROCKER) IS DARK BLUE WITH A BLACK LINE SPIRALING ALONG AND AROUND IT. IT'S QUITE THICK APROX. 12 GAGE. IT DOES SOUND TO ME AS IF THIS WIRE IS DICCONECTED. ON A "POINTS" SYSTEM, IT IS SUPPOSE TO GO TO THE - NEGATIVE SIDE OF THE COIL, SO IT CAN "COUNT" THE INPULSES AND GIVE A READING AT THE NEEDLE!! GOOD-LUCK, MARLIN. P.S. YOUR ELECTRONIC SYSTEM WILL HAVE SOME SORT OF TACH HOOK-UP!

"tach not working" back around 12-29-2001. It has some helpful advice on how to get the tach working with an MSD setup. You will need the MSD tach adaptor.
