Well, I decided to pull the fuse block this morning and clean it and replace all the fuses. The main reason I did this was to try and get my turn signals working. They haven't worked since I received the car a few months ago. I did my thing, put it all back together, hooked the battery back up and tested the turn signals. No go! So, I started playing with some of the other things. I decided to try the ac (didn't work 2 months ago and hasn't worked for 20+ years from what I know) and holy crap, it turned on. It even blew cold air. There are some plastic plates blocking the vents inside and I had to move them to feel the air. It was coming out very hard and pretty cool. So, I go and lift the deck lid and check the condenser fan. It is not moving at all. I let it sit and idle for a few minutes and watched the fan. It never moved.

Is the fan supposed to move whenever the ac is blowing? I cannot believe it is blowing cold air. It didn't work when my dad had it in 1992, the previous owner to him said it never worked.

Really weird, but I am damn happy something is working right Wink

Ya know, I never thought to check that out Roll Eyes

Just went out to the garage to see........

The red hazard button seems to be broken. Looks as if it is pushed in too far. I will attach some pics I just took. When I push on it, it moves in just a fraction. Frowner

Kats,

From your photos is appears your emergency button has the standard toothpick-wedged-in-the side modification. These switches have just about every lighting system running through them. And these switches have a history of internal contact failure. A toothpick, wedged just right, often will keep the contacts in the correct position and everything works as designed. Move the red button just a fraction, and contacts come lose and things go bad. Experiment with the toothpick wedge and see if you can't get things to function correctly. These switches are available - they were used on a bunch of cars - from the vendors and other sources. And I believe they can be opened and fixed. BUT, DO NOT remove any wires from them without being sure, very sure, you have recorded the correct placement/mapping of each color wire to each terminal. Factory wiring diagrams are not going to guarantee you can re-hook things to a working condition. Good luck.
