Aftermarket seat belts

About 4 years ago I installed a set of Toyota FJ-40 Land Cruiser seat belts. http://coolfj40.stores.yahoo.net/seatbelfj19t.html

Very pleased. Pretty much a bolt in with the exception of having to notch the firewall mounted inertial reel covers.

How are the reels mounted to the firewall, just the 2 screws? I was thinking an L-shaped bracket from the bottom bolts would be more secure there.

Andy, I recommend that you buy them and show me how good they are so I can buy them too.

Look at the photos carefully, it looks like they're the same item (as the FJ40 site), just a lot cheaper on eBay.

Seriously, I've been looking at those as well. My belts are the original non-retractor types and they're a big hassle. Drop by sometime and say hi.

I purchased these seat belts and they are as close as I can come to the belts in 9138 .. I would say exept for ome minor details they are very close to the original for 9138 .. I will take pics and show you a comparison.

The '74 Pantera has an inertia reel mounted to the fire wall. The FJ-40 inertia reel is bolted to the original mount. The 2 screws hold the cover on.

I'm going to try the Ebay ones. Mark, I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I seem to be ordering everything online now - seatbelts, new seats & door panels, river-run hardwood floors, and pills for the cat. And the pills are not the cheapest item, unfortunately. I'm going to have a break down when I get my visa bill...
