AmeriSport Industries Split Bumpers (front and rear set) for Standard Body L - $500. Includes all mounting hardware and detailed instructions from Kirk for installation. These are brand new and only a few months old. They have NOT been modified (e.g. fit to car by filing etc.) as Kirk created them using a late 74 L, which is the same as my Pantera. I did paint them in a semi-gloss black paint over the semi-gloss black primer they came with. Kirk really designed an elegant solution to replacing the U.S. L bumpers without the requirement of any bodywork or painting. I found they fit nicely and were quality made pieces. Even though I like the look of these over the L bumpers, I’ve decided to take the plunge and do the bodywork/paint to install the Euro L bumpers. “The Pantera remains one of the most sought after classic sports cars of the 1970s. The later 1972 through 1974 L model had many improvements from the earlier 71-72 cars. Unfortunately, the DOT required impact bumpers were less than attractive but not to worry - the problem has been addressed! AmeriSport Industries currently manufactures composite split bumpers designed to replace the full width original front and rear L bumpers. The new designs are styled to compliment the Pantera’s body lines and are a direct bolt on replacement requiring no additional holes for mounting.The new split front bumpers are much lighter and may be painted the original black or body color giving your Pantera a newer more modern look. The styling improvement over the L bumper is fantastic and the weight savings from removing the original bumper and impact shocks is significant totaling 25 LBS/11.3 KG. The split rear bumpers were designed to complement the front split bumpers. They are slightly smaller, have a flat inboard shape similar to the front bumpers and are a direct bolt on requiring no addition holes for mounting. Included with the bumpers are integrated brackets that use the existing impact shock holes as a mechanical mounting position and adhesive tape to mount the upper surface below the taillights. The cosmetic improvement is fantastic and the weight savings after the original bumper and impact shocks are removed is significant totaling 23 LBS/10.4 KG. All of the bumpers come in sanding jell-coat and/or etching primer and include all necessary hardware to complete the installation. Many customers have just bolted them on without additional fitting although the bumpers are designed to be detailed fitted to your specific car and painting is required for a perfect finish.”
