Anyone going to the BARRETT / JACKSON auction?

The preview was on last night. They talked about it a little bit. It had cheesy front and rear air dams and jewelry type rims. Not the best car I would have like to have seen showcased but a Pantera none the less. You could change the air dam and put some descent rims on it and it would be a pretty good looking car.

Hey, it was nice to see the Pantera highlighted on BJ's TV preview on Speed. It was showcased in the "Super Car" section and sandwiched between excerpts of a Saleen S7 and a Jaguar XJ220. That's nice company to be included with! I think everyone's car went up in value after that segment aired. I hope the Tom Tjaarda Pantera goes for a ton of money despite it's questionable styling.

Ugh, he could have at least fixed that rear wheel gap. I hope it does well. It is good whenever any decent Pantera is showcased, just so people remember that it ever existed.

Woo Hoo! Sold $100,000.00. It had some funky tail light covers on it I hadn't seen before.
Now everyone bump the price up on your cars!

Yep, it ran up pretty quickly then stalled at the $100K mark, but I think that was a good price, especially in comparison to the 'other' supercars on the block.

The XJ220 went for $137K and the Saleen for $245K, both bargains in my opinion.

Tom's Pantera look darn good up on the auction block. It would be pretty cool to have bought a Pantera that was owned by Tom Tjaarda. Especially since it was driven by him across the block during prime time on Barret Jackson.

Tom's Pantera brought way more than I thought it would. It was not like this was a Pantera he owned since 1970. He bought it what a year or two ago? The car was very nice, but the bumpers and funky light covers were ugly. Also, I did not like him dissing the interior again. Yes it would have been nice to have leather and better seats etc. But than it would not have been the bargain it was. If this had been owned by anyone else it would have been a $50K car.

If there is a down economy you could not tell by the prices being paid for most cars. Would someone please explain why anyone would pay $100K + for a "Continuation" car? What a scam! But if someone is willing to pay for it great for the seller. I just do not see the long term investment holding on these cars.

On the block Tom said he'd owned it about 6 months. Makes you wonder if it was a BJ stunt from the start.

I still have my doubts about the whole BJ club, too many of the same faces, some cars they really go all out to get an extra few $$, others the hammer drops before you know what's hit.

Notice they didn't show the bidder! How about Ron Pratt buys some nice $hit but is he smart or being suckered by BJ bet he's not paying those buyer fee's of 10+%
