Ashtray

I spend time on the European eBay sites, and have looked for our specific ashtray with no success.

At numerous Consorso Italiano shows I've also checked other Italian marque offerings from that period and failed to find our ashtray. I've seen some very close cousins, but the bar stock 'handle' on ours seems to be unique.

With that all in mind, it is my belief that it is unique to the Pantera.

However, it really doesn't make sense that a unique ashtray would be tooled for our cars, especially when we know DeTomaso sourced so many other pieces from other marques.

Perhaps one of our European owners with better exposure to European offerings has something to offer?

Larry, Like you I have looked at every other period Italian car and found the Kamm tail Alfa Spider used the same chromed plastic bit for opening the ash tray but the chrome bezel is unique to the Pantera as far as I know. I cant remember if the ash tray it's self is the same as the spider, I think it could be.

Thanks guys. Strange that they were unable to find an ashtray to fit. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy one ($100+) or find something else to fill the hole.

Probably too deep. Need to work around the shift rod.

Husker, keep an eye on e-bay. I was able to find a relatively new one (used but in excellent shape) for $30 about 6 months ago....every once in a while they pop up. My two cents.

Hmmm... Maybe you should PM Chris to see if his old ashtray is still laying around in his toolbox or on a shelf in the garage. It's worth a shot!
