Hello All:
I've searched the archives but still am not certain of the best (i.e. acceptable) way to 4 point lift a Pantera completely off the floor. This is as you all know an issue which deserves due consideration. I'm talking about using one of those pneumatic lifts with the 4 arms that swing underneath the car. Should this type lift even be considered in the first place - or is an alternative approach more appropriate?

I believe that the front lift points are the boxing rails underneath the car (approximately beneath the driver's and passenger's feet). The lifting points for the rear are, I believe, in the area (beneath?) the motor mounts?

Is there a picture (jpg) definitively illustrating these points?

Hall and the other vendors sell "jacking pads" that bolt onto the bottom of the car in the places you describe. The front jacking pads are visible in the picture attached. They are the small silver line visible behind the front wheel There is also a pad that bolts on on the rear crossmemeber.

Jim,

This is not a scary thing to do at all. Unless you intend to drop it off at Pep Boys and have some 19 year old figure it out all by himself ;-)

I've had this done a couple of times at shops. And I helped in the direction, placement and checking of the lift pads, just in case. Just behind the doors and just behind the front wheelwells, and just inside the rocker panels you will find some 1" holes in the "frame" rails. These are the stock jack lifting points. Also, as you mentioned, the 3 bolts at the motor mount area also offer a very strong point. Be careful driving onto the lift and check ground clearance as you go. You should have no problems.
