Congrats on your "new" Pantera! And welcome to the family.

That's not an original master cylinder, which means it may be less likely to need replacement. Start by flushing your brake fluid. I find the Motiv Bleeder to be a fantastic tool to flush old brake fluid. Order some ATE SuperBlue fluid to simplify your flush - you'll know when all the old fluid is out of the lines when it runs blue out of the caliper. And, the ATE has excellent performance properties - better than most - and is a relative bargain!

And while we're talking about brakes, if your car still wears it's original Girling calipers, order a set of Porterfield brake pads - they're about the best thing you can do for stock brakes.

here are some more pictures of the rear brake components. Perhaps somebody could tell me if these are stock?

Everything shown on the rear brakes looks very stock. The master is most likely GM specifically Corvette. Thats a pretty popular conversion. You can see that theres an adapter plate between the booster and the master.And also, do what Garth 66 said. BUY THE PORTERFIELD PADS!!! I drove a fresh restoration right thru a stop sign because the stock pads are absolute garbage. I still have them if you wish to buy them! Theyre brand new! less than 50 miles! And theyre cheap!!

Next thing to determine if i have the proportioning valve. If so, I think i will do the mod to eliminate it. If I got the willwood conversion for the rears and the stock rotors, i conclude that this mastercylinder will suffice?

Im going to do the delete that the other members talk about in other threads. Hoping to get in touch with Scott from SACC restorations to see about getting the willwood rear upgrade kit.
