I have seen a few historical posts that mention the ability to potentially track a car back to the dealer that originally delivered it. I recently adopted a '72 Pre-L - #3750 and was trying to reconstruct as much of its history as possible - original dealer, original buyer (if possible), original equipment, etc. I have the info from Provamo and from the QV500 registry, but was really wanting more info on when/where/who the car was delivered to. Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have already contacted them for info. They have limited data compared to Mustangs but just for infos sake here it is:
'all the deluxe report will tell you is the day it was sold and at what dealer and the color of the Pantera'

Also note that the average dealer only keeps archive records for 5 years, although I was lucky when documenting a Company racer Mustang.. you never know.

What you're asking for probably cannot be found without a lot of personal legwork, not via a few keystrokes. Decades ago in CA, a nut-case got the license plate # of an up-and-coming young pop-singer, researched her address from DMV records (which were available back then), stalked her and killed her. Now, all states view such info as 'protected' and only cops can access it. What you'll get for your bucks from most of the search people is the car's original port of entry into the States and the dealer that sold it- and thats about all. There are various registries of DeTomaso serial numbers, as do most of the parts dealers, but there will be no names or addresses, only a state- and the dates involved will be obsolete. Sorry.
Well I just got my Marti report for # 3463 and wanted to share. I have everything for my car except the window sticker/original owner info.

The selling dealer is not in business anymore. An office building was built at that address in 1979. Does anyone in New Orleans > Louisana know/remember Clay Dutton Co. Automobile Sales. 1535 Poydas Street, New Orleans 70112?

Dave

...the best $ 46.00 I have spent this year...

...Steve Wilkinson is trying to get Santiago (at detomaso) to see if he has any records for me as well...

Well, I just spent the $46, (actually-$49 because I also requested a report by e mail) on the Marti report today.

Maybe in the future I will upgrade to the Elite report which includes a reproduction window sticker and the whole report framed.

Kerry,

I just spoke with one of the people at Marti's today. I asked if I could get a repo window sticker along with a deluxe VIN report. She said yes, $55, and a 5 month wait for the sticker. When she found out that it was for a Pantera, she said that the window sticker is not available for the Pantera. She told me to keep checking their website for news/new items, as they may be offering the repo window sticker in the future.
