Prepare for some oddballs - in no particular order:

1978 Mini Marcos Mk 4
1967 Mini Marcos Mk 3
1966 Mini Marcos Mk 2
1971 Stimson Minibug
1973 Opel Manta Berlinetta
1987 Opel Manta GSI
1986 Opel Manta GTE
1977 Lancia Montecarlo x2
1989 Lancia Integrale
1991 Lancia Integrale evo
1991 Honda Prelude VTEC
1985 Fiero GT (Pretty exotic in the UK)
1971 Gilbern Invader estate
1983 Fiat 127 GT
1971 Mini Cooper S rep.
1985 BMW 3 series thing
1971 Pantera

And various other run-abouts - jeez, i'm only 33!
Damn! I got some catchin up to do. "Honey, we gotta buy a few more cars."

Anyway, here's my humble list, including the boring cars:

66 Mustang GT fastback (GT350 clone) - still own - it was my first car too
61 VW Bug
78 Yamaha 400
77 Porsche 924
69 VW Bug
85 Suzuki GS700E
85 Honda Civic
88 Honda Accord
85 Peugeot 505 Gas Turbo
93 Mercury Sable Wagon
92 Oldsmobile Acheiva
95 Toyota LandCruiser - still own
89 Mustang GT convertible
72 DeTomaso Pantera - still own
96 BMW 328i 5sp - still own
01 Pontiac GrandAm GT - still own

I also owned (but never got to drive)...
1927 Fageol 1-1/2 ton flatbed truck - Given to me by my grandfather who parked it by the barn in '48 because it needed a clutch. Unfortunately, I never got around to getting it running. Was donated to a farming museum in Half Moon Bay.
1966 Mercury Monterey with a 410 FE engine - Was our family car until my dad rear ended someone in 1974, but damage was minimal. Gave it to me when I was a freshman in high school, but all my money went to buy my Mustang so it never ran again.

And there's an even bigger and better list of cars I had the opportunity to purchase, but didn't. And yes, I still kick myself for not buying any of them.

3rd Street car- 1959 Chevy station wagon..283V8
The better to tow all those racers around...
Always had a spare water pump for the LolaT70...
Poor thing melted a piston yankin' the Lola over the "Grapevine" returning
from Riverside one night.
Sucessfully towed BT21fc San Jose to Road Atlanta(and back) for SCCA championships 1971
I saw an article in "Autoweek"about a brand new racer, and just HAD to have it, so....
Sell everything! I've GOTTA have one of those!!!

1986 - Olds 442
1962 - Corvette
1973 - Pantera ( My first Ford & a Keeper!)
Race car #5-1972 Brabham BT40 FB 1600cc,Lucas fuel injected Twin Cam Cosworth 416b
Raced such venues as Orange County,Ontario Motor Speedway,Sears Point, Riverside, and Laguna Seca.
A fun,FAST,real racer that was a joy to drive...(I told ya,comp2...)
Because I requested time off at work for the june 1972 "Olympia Sprints" at Laguna,my foreign auto parts store boss in San Jose threatened to fire me,(no vacation time earned, always wanting race weekends off)So I Quit!... and had more time to prep the BT40 for the race weekend...
On the podium after my dominating win that following sunday, Bob Bondurant congratulated me on my win and asked me if I was actually without a job. When I said "yes,I have to deal with that now" Bob said "I just moved my racing school from Ontario to Sears Point, and some of my instructors decided not to make that move. Would you be interested in the job?" It took me about 3 seconds to decide that one!!!
Oh boy!!!!Ripping Goodyears to shreds AND getting paid to do it!!!
I don't really need the BT40 anymore-it has done it's job very well......I wonder what kind of cool Ford street car I could get if I sold it? Hmmmmmmmmmmm...................

I sold that Bt40, and bought 4744 on june 16,1976 ($10,500)
This shot, one of the first, was taken at the Bondurant school offices, in the pit area at Sears Point...Oh, the hair, the bell bottoms, the black and white pictures, but hey...It was the 70's !!!
What the hell are"Super Stock Formula 1's" anyway ? (once again- it was the 70's)
Now to get rid of that Chevy wagon and look around for another cool Ford street car...
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.................Again............................................

Just what I needed, 2 motors that were made for back when gas was free!!!An overpowered, tailhappy kinda pick-up thing, especially in the rain...I bent a bunch of pushrods in it along Hwy37 one night, and I was only cruising along.......Must be a Ford.....As only we Ford owners can say.....Often...Here I am with 2 of them, now...
So Marcus, did you then sell your Lola for 5758 ? Ron

By now I've decided to stop numbering race cars, because now I don't own 'em, I just (get paid to) drive 'em ! Like this Datsun 260Z GTU 1978 Daytona 24hrs-drivers-Bob Bondurant/Ron Southern/Steve Cook entrant.
Although not really a "car we used to own" There is a Pantera connection, aside from myself and Bob(Bondurant did a lot of early 70s Pantera PR introductions at Ontario Motor Speedway)
There I was, during qualifing. topped out in our Z at about 162 along Lake Lloyd(no chicane then) in the left, lower lane, when the Hugh Kleinpeter/Jef Stevens/Janet Guthrie GTX class 1971 (1603)Pantera "GT4K", painted in colors visible only to bees, went blasting past me 'way up high on the banking in Porsche turbo territory. I cheered them on as we both tilted into turn 3, wishing them a good lap to get into the field. Winding through the infield road course on my next lap, I was saddened to see 1603 parked along the course, with steam, smoke, and evil liquids eminating from every orifice of the car. Even a few bees and flies were attracted, as we yellows will do...
They ended up qualifing 25th,but DNS...Believe me, they tried...
We tried, too, and finished somewhere in the 20 somethings(the boss hittin' the guard rail is a whole other story, too) We beat A.J.Foyt with his twin turbo Porsche ! He broke it along the side of the infield, too. and it went on permanent display, used as a braking marker in the night.
Rule of thumb at Daytona, when approching a spinning car in 2 and 3 at night; you'll see headlights/tailights/headlights/tailights as they slide inexorably down the 26deg banking, and there's no need to lift-in fact, point at him and punch it-he won't be there when you get there !
Maybe things will be better at the Sebring 12hrs......For all of us...

Thanks for the "very cool" lastpushbutton....240Zs were very cool,too........Ron

No, I did a year as Clerk of the Course at Edmonton International Speedway for the club, and more or less left the car thing behind me. Had a couple of Fiat X1/9s, because they were fun to drive and reminded me of my Pantera.

I bought #5758 in Tennessee last fall, and it arrived just in time for Christmas. Over 30 years between Panteras!

One more pic of me on the grid in 1976 for a standing start (pole position):
